Help me raise money for African lawyers fighting against corporate crime

Royal Parks Half Marathon 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·
I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money to support our African colleagues at RAID. I would be very grateful for any support you can provide.
RAID is a UK-based NGO that exposes corporate abuses and human rights violations, partnering with those harmed to hold companies to account. Through rigorous investigation, advocacy and the law, RAID seeks to strengthen regulation of business and achieve justice. This year, we are raising money for our African partners, without whom our work would be simply impossible. Despite a broken toe, I decided to run to raise money for them. Any donation is more than welcome - let's show solidarity with those at the frontline.
African human rights activists and lawyers are exposing some of the world’s worst examples of corporate abuses. My colleagues and I working at RAID work side by side with these local heroes in places such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Tanzania and Zimbabwe to hold multinational companies to account for human rights abuses. I have the immense privilege to witness their dedication in fighting for a more equal world, which sometimes put their life and safety at risk.
Often forced to work quietly under the radar and at great risk to their well-being, African lawyers and activists are at the frontlines of corporate accountability. They collect information about the abuses, act as the interface with those affected and struggle through national courts against the power of corporate giants.
RAID partners with these lawyers and activists. Our work - in helping to hold companies to account - would be impossible without them. Any donation is welcome - help us support their inspiring work.
