10 years ago I was rescued by the Air Ambulance following a near death collapse at the Forest of Dean Half Marathon. The ability to get me to hospital quickly made the difference between being fully recovered, as I am, or having to suffer potentially severe long term health complications. I will be forever grateful to all those that helped me that day and the role of the Air Ambulance was crucial, as it could be for many others caught in the race against time in such catastrophic events.
