Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·
The picture of a small boy lying face down in the sand on a Turkish beach made me think what could I do to help vulnerable children who find themselves in desperate situations through no fault of their own? Sometimes through war, conflict or just neglect.
This is where I really need your help. Will you help me raise £3,000 for an organisation that directly helps children?
Would you sponsor me to run the London Marathon on 24 April 2016 to raise funds for Save the Children? I would be so grateful if you could help.
In the UK, they are aiding 1.6 million children who are living in severe poverty. Being born into a poor family dramatically reduces a child’s chances of a brighter future.
Save The Children works in more than 120 countries. More than 8 million children died last year, most from preventable conditions and diseases. A staggering number were less than 5 years old. Many preventable deaths of children are as a result of malnutrition. In 2014 they responded to 97emergencies in 54 countries - delivering life-saving food, water, healthcare, protection and education to over 5 million people.
I believe that every child should have a chance to thrive, but unfortunately, too many don’t get that chance.
It only needs 116 people to sponsor me £1 per mile to raise £3,000, will you be one of those people?
