Geoff's Mont Ventoux - Handcycle Ascent

Mont Ventoux - Handcycle Ascent · 27 May 2019
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 1991, I was involved in an accident at work which left me paralysed from the waist down and reliant on a wheelchair for mobility.
Since then, I have become a keen hand cyclist, cycling most parts of the UK and in Europe
I am ascending Mont Ventoux which is a mountain in the Provence region of Southern France. At 1,919m, it is the highest mountain in the region. It has gained fame through its inclusion in the Tour de France cycling race.
There are three routes up to the summit of Mont Ventoux, but I will be cycling the most difficult and famous route that has been used on the Tour de France.
I will be cycling from Bédoin from which the road climbs 1617 m over 21.8 km, at an average gradient of 7.43%.
I plan to make my ascent week commencing the 25th September 2019, and my completed ride will be uploaded to Strava.
