I'm running the Manchester Marathon for CAFOD. I've been running for 7 years but never felt capable of completing a marathon.  Until now, when I realised that the discomfort i will feel, is nothing compared to the discomfort of others around the world!

I'm running for people who are hurt, hungry, and abandoned.  

As a Catholic man I am called to help people in need, whatever that need, wherever that need.   But the problem is I can't do it on my own, there are just too many people who need help.  So through our support of CAFOD we can help those who need it.

My Target is £1000 because for that, we can actually buy a water supply for a community!   

Imagine not having something as simple as clean water!

Abdella is 23 and he has big dreams. 

He dreams of starting a small business. He dreams of starting a family. He dreams of having his own home.  He dreams of the day he wont have to walk ten hours to get water.

Abdella lives in Afar, Ethiopia one of the hottest places on earth. Like hundreds of people in the area, he spends most of the day walking to get water for his family to drink. He knows that if there was water near his home, his family wouldn't have to worry any more about getting enough to stay alive. And he could start on the dreams he has for the rest of his life.
