A good friend of mine, Mark (Barney) Carney was telling me that before Covid a few of his work colleagues in the office decided they would attempt to cycle the Coast to Coast and their manager, Michael Ferrigon, said he would provide support for the weekend. As covid hit they had to put plans on hold. During this time they sadly lost Michael. After covid restrictions were eased they decided to plan the trip again and raise some money at the same time in Michael’s memory. On hearing this I decided to join the team and help them with their endeavours so we now have ten NHS Pension and Payroll staff attempting the challenge as well as me.
We will arrive in Whitehaven on the 29th April and start riding on the 30th, stopping over at Penrith and Alston on our way to the finishing point at Tynemouth on the 2nd May. This is now unsupported meaning we have to carry all our clothing and essentials with us therefore it could be an interesting weekend 😉, fingers crossed it doesn't rain 🤞
All donations will be gratefully received and are going to a great cause.
