The Charity was founded in 1978 to provide kenneling for retired racing greyhounds whilst they are found new homes.

Story

Hello and thanks for looking...

Running the Brighton marathon I'm supporting two charities linked to homelessness. This page is for Retired Greyhounds in Brighton and Hove and my second charity is a Brighton based refuge (The Clock Tower Sanctuary) that supports young homeless people [www.justgiving.com/geoff-pike0].

Three years ago we got our first greyhound (have a look at the magnificant Robbie in the pictures) and since then have become big fans of these lovely animals. As well as raising some money for the B&H Retired Greyhund Trust which helps find homes for ex-racing greyhounds I also hope in a small way to raise the profile of greyhounds and hope one or two people who look at this page might one day consider homing a greyhound themselves - you would never regret it, and each year around 12000 greyhounds retire from the sport and need a home.

The B&H RGT is run by a wonderful octagenarian lady who could do with all the support she can get to find homes for these wonderful dogs!

Thanks again.

PS in terms of my commitment I'd never run more than 4-5 miles at most (in one go) and have been training since September when a mad friend got me in a moment of weakness to give it a go. Since then I know I've bored a lot of people about running, thought about little else and generally become extremely tedious...
