Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

PBC is an auto-immune disease affecting the liver function by blocking the bile duct. Affecting mainly women, the causes are not yet fully determined and as yet there is no cure. Only medication to control the effects by clearing the bile duct. Symptoms are varied, but the most common are itching, extreme fatigue, dry eyes and other eye infections, general joint pain causing soreness and stiffness after sitting for extended periods. The disease is also associated with many other problems involving the digestive system. Liver transplant is no guarantee of cure. Outwardly, sufferers may look normal, but the inward conditions can be difficult to deal with in the extreme.

Please help me as Regional Volunteer for Angus, to raise funds to provide help and advice to sufferers and help fund research based in the UK at Cambridge.
