My sister Suzy died from pancreatic cancer two years ago after a brief and brave struggle. Throughout her life she inspired love, friendship and loyalty. She is greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Her indomitable spirit led her to run the Great North Run several times in the years before her death to raise money for charity. I walked/ran with members of my family last year, specifically with my brother-in-law, Peter, himself a cancer survivor and former marathon runner.
We are doing it again this year, in my case to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. I have also entered the Great South Run in Portsmouth in October.
