London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

Ryan Bresnahan died very suddenly on 31st March 2010 of Meningitis B, aged just 16. He was a fit, healthy, caring young man, full of personality. 'a Life for a Cure' has raised £600,000 towards vital vaccine research, campaigning for greater vaccine take-up & raising awareness of the symptoms.

Story

On the 23rd April I’ll be running the London Marathon in memory of a truly great friend, Ryan Bresnahan.

On the 31st March 2010, having just turned 16 at the time, Ryan tragically lost his life to meningitis. Ryan was simply someone you just wanted to be around, and a legend on the sports field with an unbelievable talent in hockey. Not a day goes by where Ryan isn’t missed.

His parents, John and Michelle, and his sister Charlotte established Ryan’s charity, ‘a LIFE for a CURE’ as both a legacy to Ryan and to raise funds to support finding the ultimate vaccine for Meningitis B.

Any donation would be massively appreciated in support towards putting an end to such merciless attacks on young people’s lives.

Thank you,

G
