George's Summer Solstice Cycle · 20 June 2021

Thrive is the leading UK charity that uses gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people who are living with disabilities or ill health, or are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable. This is known as social and therapeutic horticulture (STH).

Story

Thank you for visiting my page! I will be setting off at the
crack of dawn on Sunday 20th June – the longest day of the year –
and will cycle from sunrise to sunset in support of Thrive
charity.

During the sponsored cycle, my aim is to get as far as possible during the hours of daylight! The cycle will take place for just over 17 hours during the Summer Solstice.

Why Thrive?

Thrive is a 40-year-old organisation which is passionate about the positive health benefits of gardening and horticulture on the lives of vulnerable individuals living with disabilities, ill health or isolation. The charity uses gardening to positively change many lives, and I couldn’t think of a better charity to support in my fundraising efforts with its shared passion for the positive impacts of gardening!
