We raise funds to enhance patient care and experience

Story

2 years ago, I shaved my beard in support of Andy's Man Club, this year, I'm doing it again to help the Special Care Baby Unit at the Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax. The reason behind choosing them is that my son Rex was born 6 weeks early and spent the first 3 weeks of his life in this unit. The level of care he received was second to none and the staff were absolutely fantastic throughout the process, without them, Rex wouldn't be home and healthy like he is now. We honestly can't thank them enough, but this will go a small way towards that.

Throughout the month of Movember, my trademark beard will be removed except for the moustache, but only if enough money is donated. If £100 or more is met, I'll go with a 'stache of the most ridiculous style I can manage.

£80 was raised a couple of years ago, if we can top that, I'll be very happy. It goes without saying, but without funding for these crucial areas of our NHS, these most at-risk patients may not get the level of care that they need in the future.

About the charity

We raise funds for all wards and departments at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, enhancing the experience of patients, their families and staff, over and above what NHS funding alone can deliver. Together we can make a real difference to local people when they need it most.
