George And James' Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp Trek · 21 August 2018
Two and a half years post transplant and Dad is as good as new (well, almost!) . It has been life changing for him and us; he has been able to ski again, scuba dive and travel; all things that for 6 years were out of the question.
There are currently 6,500 people in desperate need of a kidney transplant. Kidney Research UK desperately need funds to continue to make transplants more readily available, to cut waiting times and find a cure for kidney disease. Between 2016 and 2017 411 people died whilst on the waiting list.
We have set ourselves a huge challenge to raise money for Kidney research Uk.
In August this year, we will be travelling to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp. It will be Monsoon season which will make it all the more challenging. It will involve 11 days of trekking at altitude covering 115km distance in total & climbing up to 5,644m. We will be trekking for up to 8 hours a day; altitude sickness can be a real problem, along with leeches and dysentery!(!) amongst other things, but it’s going to be an experience of a lifetime and if we can raise money for a cause close to our hearts then all the better.
Please, if you feel you want to, support us with our challenge.
Many thanks for your support
James and George
