Story
The challenge
I will be attempting to complete a number of ultramarathons and ultra-running challenges between now and the start of next summer (2021). These will include running a single stage 100 mile race around the arc of Cornwall (the Arc of Attrition 100), running the 96 mile West Highland Way in three days (completely self-sufficient), running the 214 mile Southern Upland Way in one week (completely self-sufficient), and culminating in me running the 630 mile South West Coast Path in under 15 days (mostly self-sufficient).

The cause
I will be raising money to fund extracurricular outdoor activities at Preston Manor Upper School, Wembley - the school at which I work. Covid-19 has adversely affected students at the school, stalling much needed extracurricular activities which provide them with additional experience and skills for life. The Brent community the school serves has significant pockets of high deprivation and has been disproportionately affected by Covid-19.

Having worked in the school community I am aware of the needs of the students and as such I am looking to raise funds to purchase equipment to support outdoors activities so that students can have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, which is essential for their health, wellbeing and personal development. This will include equipment such as tents, outdoor cooking equipment and resources to support activities such as orienteering and map reading. If we were able to raise sufficient funds we would like to build towards starting a Duke of Edinburgh course for students which will credit students with their achievement and support them with life skills, including resilience, confidence and teamwork, as well as providing them with additional UCAS points for university.
