Story

Hi, I am 14 years old and want to make a difference...... In 2006 my Dad, Jonathan was diagnosed with a rare kidney disorder. In 2018 he was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer and underwent life saving surgery to remove a tumour and one of his kidneys.

Since his surgery in March 2018, he has undergone intensive treatment and further surgery. Anyone who knows my Dad knows that he is the ultimate researcher and pushes the boundaries every single day to find ways to fight this disease.

I am so proud of my Dad and want to be able to contribute and raise money for Kidney Research UK. On 25th April, I am going to walk a marathon on my lawn to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. I hope you can help me to reach my target.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Save the UK's Charities

General fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
