Great North Run 2023
Campaign by Diabetes UK (RCN 215199)
The greatest half marathon in the world. For the last 85 years, Diabetes UK has been at the forefront of diabetes research. We've discovered how to put type 2 diabetes into remission and were working day in, day out to find a cure.

Story

We're running the Great North Run (half marathon) to raise money for Diabetes UK! A cause close to our hearts. Dom, who has type 1 diabetes, knows firsthand how important the organization's support is. Together, we're determined to make a difference.

2 years ago Dom experienced severe diabetic symptoms leaving him partially blind for over a week before he was admitted to hospital and finally diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He now must live his life micromanaging everything he does (including all his training for this run) to make sure his blood sugar levels are always regulated.

Thanks to Diabetes UK, living with the condition is a lot easier now for people like Dom, helping push research in scanners that can track his blood sugar levels replacing the need for constant manual blood tests diabetics used to have to do.

Join us in supporting Diabetes UK by donating to our JustGiving team. Together, we can improve the lives of those affected by diabetes and help find a cure.

Thank you for your support!

Dom and George
