We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

Last month, my mate Olly passed away having struggled with mental health issues for a number of years.  Olly was a fiercely talented journalist, an excellent chef and a fellow Newcastle fan.  He also had a fairly shocking taste in music and a loud laptop (Pretty sure he actually bought Hard-Fi's album). Most of all though, he was a better friend to me than I probably deserved.

To have lost a friend to suicide is a very surreal, jarring experience.  It's such a profoundly heartbreaking loss which feels so preventable.  I'm running the Vitality British 10K in July in support of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) who do fantastic work in helping fight back against male suicide.

If you give me like a fiver or a tenner, whatever you can afford to donate, I promise to give 110% and I'll most likely win the entire race probably or something.  And that'll be because of you, you little star.

Thanks,

Gman x
