Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  In the Easter holidays of 2017 I am travelling with Aylesbury Grammar School to Malosa, Malawi in Africa.  In order to take part in the trip I need to do my share of fundraising for the village in Malawi. Please help me reach my target!

I am aiming to reach my target by holding cake sales, a car boot and a sponsored Evans family 24 hour fast, amongst other enterprising ideas.

Aylesbury Grammar School has maintained a strong connection with Malawi for over twenty years. During this time A.G.S. has raised approximately £5,000 a year, which is sent through the Malawi Association for Christian Support, to assist various programmes including: education, health and transport. Six years ago a committee made up of a number of teaching staff, support staff and students started to discuss ways to develop the link we have with Malawi, to enhance the curriculum and create opportunities and experiences. One of the most exciting strategies put forward was an exchange between a school in Malawi, Malosa School and A.G.S. Malosa School is located in the Zomba District in the south of Malawi.

Every two years, 30 students from AGS embark on an educational exchange to Malawi. Whilst there, we carry out a number of projects. In recent years these have included: -Installing mosquito nets and mattresses, providing Medical supplies for a hospital, painting Murals and walls, installing 5 computer suites, providing Sports equipment for schools and improving roofing and educational facilities at local schools.  Also, we hope to build a new classroom in the primary school in future years.
