Early next year I am going to be making a world record attempt on the 'Seven Summits'.  To give you more of idea of what this attempt entails read on....

*  The 'Seven Summits' challenge comprises of climbing the seven highest summits on the seven continents.  The summits are: Elbrus (Europe); Denali (North America); Carstensz Pyramid (Australasia); Kilimanjaro (Africa); Mt Vinson (Antarctica); Aconcagua (South America); and the world’s highest mountain....EVEREST!!

*  Only 4 British Women have completed this challenge

*  The world record currently stands at 156 days

I have been a 'whole time' Fire Fighter for eight years, prior to that i was 'retained' for a further 2 years.  Throughout my service i have been lucky enough to not have required the services of the Fire Fighters Charity, however i know of colleagues who have benefited from the invaluable help that the charity provides.
