Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
At the end of July 2008 I am going to join a group cycling from London to Paris over three days - a journey of almost 300 miles. This is quite a daunting challenge for me, but one which I hope will be made all the easier with the knowledge that I have raised a lot of money for two very good causes: Salusbury GreenSpace and Action Against Hunger.
Salusbury GreenSpace is a project at Salusbury School in NW London which is attended by my son, Eliot. It is a large inner city primary school which currently has 700 children and little outside space. The project, of which I am treasurer, aims to create a place where children can learn through interacting with the natural world. It is a really exciting project that will enrich the lives of local children, and will also bring substantial benefits to the wider community, but it needs money to make the vision a reality. Find out more at http://www.salusburygreenspace.org/
Action Against Hunger is an international organization that delivers emergency aid to people suffering as a result of natural disasters or man-made crises. I am keen to balance what I raise for a local cause by helping developing countries in crisis - particularly those hit by the soaring cost of food. I have friends who work for Action Against Hunger and know it to be an efficient and effective charity. You can find out more at http://www.actionagainsthunger.org/.
All the money raised will go initially to the Salusbury Primary School PSA, of which GreenSpace is a part, and they will forward half the amount I raise to Action Against Hunger (JustGiving isn't able to raise money for two charities from one page).
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Salusbury Junior School Parent-Teacher Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
