Story

2017 marks the 20th anniversary of my sister passing.  In 1997 Anita lost her 2 year battle with cancer.  Had we known then what we know now, chances are she'd be cheering me on getting hit in the head for another great charity.  Unfortunately this was not the case.

I'm very conscious of the constant ask and have left it 3 years since asking you again.  This one's a little different though.  The Hulk and Captain America have done their days running around obstacle courses.  There's no hiding for me in the ring.  The coach tonight said I had the turning circle of a super tanker.  I don't anticipate the fight to be pretty but I can guarantee I'll give it my all.  If I'm on the canvas after the first punch or lent on the ropes after the 3 rounds, I will still be very grateful for your support.

Supporting this charity will make the difference to the lives of thousands of others in the future.  Together we can still win this fight, regardless of whether I do or don't.

Finally, to avoid any ethical issues between running a mental health charity and participating in a sport with a greater likelihood of head injuries, I will be boxing under the name George Martin.  It' still me I assure.
