George's Run

London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
My brother's name is Ollie. He passed away years ago from a fight with cancer. It was the darkest experience of my life.
Prior to Ollie's passing though, the Make-A-Wish foundation helped bring some light to our life, specifically to his. Ollie loved trains, so much so that he wish to become one. The Make-A-Wish foundation not only granted Ollie's wish, but went above and beyond on numerous occasions to celebrate Ollie, his life, and to honor him after his passing.
To this day Ollie has a train in Chicago, Illinois honoring him everyday. I will forever be grateful for those times spent with Ollie, seeing him happy despite the nature of our situation. I have the Make-A-Wish foundation to thank for it, and now I am honored to join them as a charity runner for the London Marathon in 2023. I am shooting to raise $2500GBP for Make-A-Wish in time for the race.
I'd like to dedicate my run not just to Ollie, but also my grandmother Jayne who passed away in late 2022. She was a continuous supporter of the Make-A-Wish foundation and a positive force in her community. I miss them both everyday, and hope to make them both proud with this race. Thank you in advance for any support you send my way and any generous donations you submit to Make-A-Wish.

Make-A-Wish® UK creates life-changing wishes that revive the childhood that critical illness takes away, bringing light and joy at the darkest of times for a child and their loved ones. But right now, there are 60,000 children in the UK living with a critical condition, and they don’t have the resources to be that light for everyone. Your generous support will help them step closer to achieving their vision: to grant a wish to every eligible child. Together, we have the power to light up the darkness.
