Lumos is fighting for every child’s right to have a family. There are over 5.4 million children trapped in institutions globally. These intuitions severely harm a child's physical and mental development. We are fighting for every child's right to grow up at home, in a safe and loving family.

Story

Please help me raise vital funds for Lumos' work to rescue children from orphanages where they are abused, neglected and exploited and make sure they can flourish in loving, nurturing families.

I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 25th March 2018 to raise money for Lumos to help the eight million children living in orphanages worldwide. More than 80% of these children are not orphans but have been separated from their families because of poverty and discrimination. Although set up to care for children, orphanages severely harm children, exposing them to all forms of abuse and trafficking.  These children are hidden, forgotten and silenced.

I am not really a runner.  I chose to do the half-marathon because I am humbled and inspired by people who have not seen the amazing work of Lumos first-hand, yet still do extraordinary things to raise money for our work. I wanted to do something I would find difficult. I would love it if you would help me make this a success.

100% of your donation will go directly to helping children, as our overheads are covered. Find out more here: https://www.wearelumos.org/get-involved/100-pledge/
