Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On April 22nd, I will be running my third London Marathon in memory of my daughter, Millie. As most of you know, Millie was born with a life limiting illness called Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa, the most severe form of a condition that causes the skin to blister at the slightest touch. On diagnosis, we were given a life expectancy for Millie of around 6 weeks.

Millie lived for 17 months and touched the hearts of everyone that met her, charming them with her ever grumpy face and inspiring them with her resilience to anything that was thrown her way. Without a doubt, Millie has taught me so many invaluable life lessons and changed my perspective on life for the better.

As rewarding as caring for Millie was, it obviously posed its challenges. The support of Little Havens throughout Millie's life and after we lost her was invaluable and seeing first hand the work they do for so many families across Essex means that if I'd love to, in a small way, help them to help others that face challenges like my own.
