Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was just 12 yrs old. I really struggled in my teen years to stay on top of my blood sugar levels when all I wanted to do was to run around and eat whatever I wanted like my friends. Instead I had to prick my finger every time I wanted to eat and inject before any activity, meals and bed time and watch every single carb.. Keeping on top of  diabetes is so much better today with insulin pumps, blood glucose sensors but not so easy for family’s with no insurance or money to buy insulin at $800 for 5 prefilled pens or pumps starting at $5,000! Today, 26 yrs later after being diagnosed, I am healthy, have 2 beautiful boys who really have so many toys. Therefore,  i figured if any of you are struggling with what to gift ??? simply donate to a charity close to Matteo’s heart.  Finding a cure is the greatest gift for any child with type 1 diabetes including mommy’s!
