First things first!! Before I get on to the soppy bit about how amazing and magical Hebron House is, there are a few things you should know about me! Firstly, I am inherently, just a little bit lazy!! And secondly, I absolutely HATE running!!... So, why enter a 15 km obstacle course in the mud??... Well, I'm glad you asked!!
In a nutshell... On 19th August 2020 I arrived at Hebron House, a female residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centre in Norwich, utterly broken. Broken in every way a woman can be broken. I was angry with the world and trusted no one. Physically I was a shambles, riddled with illnesses and problems with every part of my body as consequence of my 15 year battle with addiction. Mentally I was on the edge, desperate and spiritually vacant from years of trauma, substance abuse, street homelessness, domestically violent relationships, to name just a few. Most people had given up on me and I was stigmatised as being "too entrenched to change" and a "hopeless case" by many in the addiction services.
Today I am over 2 years of being substance free and am living a life that I had almost lost hope of ever having again.
I don't have the space, less the vocabulary to articulate all of what Hebron House gives to the ladies fortunate (and brave! Very brave) enough to walk through those doors, BUT, I can tell you at least ONE of the reasons your donations are SO, SO important!!
My local London authority refused to fund any more treatment for me
(Lambeth - BOO!) but it was evident I needed more time The Hebron Trust, (that operates purely on donations just like the one i'm asking you to make), further funded my treatment for an EXTRA 8 WEEKS!!
Hebron House and their beautiful team of awesome women nurtured and supported me in my recovery and have empowered me to reclaim my life!! For that, I am eternally grateful (hence all the running - did I mention I really hate running!!)
Please help to ensure that Hebron can continue to be there for the women like myself, who are in desperate need of an opportunity for change.
Hebron House saves lives. It costs £950 per week to make this happen. I realise that is a lot of money for one person to give alone!! BUT, as I learned at Hebron;
What you can't do alone, we can do together... Now who wouldn't want to be part of making miracles happen ey?!!
Thanks in advance from the women who's lives are about to change!!
