Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025 · 12 October 2025 ·

Mindstep was founded in memory of Max Davies who died by suicide at 22 years old in 2018. The charity funds mental health and suicide prevention research, awareness and support. We support vital research at the University of Glasgow, deliver ASIST courses and fund the training of counsellors.

Story

On Sunday 12th October 2025, I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London for a very special charity, the Mindstep Foundation. This will be my first half marathon and, whilst not a challenge for many, training for this has definitely been a step up from my usual Clapham Common 5km park run!

The Mindstep Foundation has been set up in memory of my husband Oli’s best friend, Max Davies, who sadly lost his battle with clinical depression and died by suicide 7 years ago, aged 22. The foundation provides an incredible platform to fund mental health and suicide prevention research, awareness and support. In particular, the foundation has an established working relationship with the University of Glasgow, where groundbreaking research is carried out at their Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory, and also provides support to other families who have lost loved ones.

Any donations at all, no matter how big or small, would be so appreciated… as well as recovery tips 🏃🏼‍♀️

Lots of love, G xxx
