Cycling the High Peak Trail (there and back again) · 8 August 2015

Every penny given helps us to save even more wild lives. Dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. The charity deals with more than 20,000 wildlife emergencies every year. Our policy is to return every patient to the wild once they have recovered.

Story

Hi, my name is Georgia and I'm 10 years old. Mum has set up this page for me because I want to raise some more money for my favourite charity by cycling The High Peak Trail on 8th August 2015. If the weather is terrible that day, I have a reserve date of 23rd August 2015.

The High Peak Trail is a cycle route which runs along the old Cromford and High Peak Railway line. It is 17.5 miles long, from High Peak Junction (close to Cromford) to Dowlow (near Buxton.) Obviously I'll have to go both ways along it so I will cycle a total of 35 miles.

This is my fifth fundraising effort for The Wildlife Aid Foundation. I've previously raised over £1000 (£1300 including gift aid) by doing a 10 mile sponsored walk, donating my birthday money and I’ve even climbed Mount Snowdon. I give most of my pocket money to Wildlife Aid every month (my mum still makes sure there's some left over for me!) I'd love to raise £250 from this event.

Why do I raise money for The Wildlife Aid Foundation? It's because I've loved watching Wildlife SOS on TV, and more recently online, since I was little and I think that the work that The Wildlife Aid Foundation do is brilliant! They look after sick, injured and orphaned British wildlife, releasing them back into the wild where they belong when they are well/old enough. They've cared for badgers, foxes, deer, hedgehogs, squirrels, rabbits, swans, owls and many many more types of animals and birds. They've even looked after an otter and a mole!

My favourite animals are foxes and owls, and when I grow up I want to be a vet so that I can help animals too. That's a long time away though, so for now I'm going to raise as much money as I can for The Wildlife Aid Foundation so that they can carry on with their amazing work.

Please help me to help The Wildlife Aid Foundation to protect our precious British wildlife.
