I am going 5.4m a day to help us get One Step Closer to making sure the 5.4 million children trapped in orphanages worldwide get the Home Advantage they deserve, and grow up in safe, loving families. Every mile I move, and pound you raise, will help support our Home Advantage Campaign and get us One Step Closer to ending the use of orphanages for good. Because children need families, never orphanages. Athletes do better when they play somewhere familiar. In sport, thats known as Home Advantage. But Home Advantage is critical for children, too. Every child needs to grow up with a sense of belonging and the support of a family. That Home Advantage gives children the chance to grow up happy and healthy. 8 in 10 children in orphanages still have family who could take care of them, with the right support, the rest could have loving foster families. By completing this challenge, I am supporting the Home Advantage Campaign and helping drive the change needed to end orphanages for good.
