In memory of Natalie Moss

The Natalie Kate Moss Trust was setup in 2012 by the Moss family after the sudden death of Natalie from a brain haemorrhage. With only 3 out of 5 people surviving a brain haemorrhage within one month, the trust is on a mission to prevent and treat as many brain haemorrhages as possible.

Story

I am taking on the challenge of swimming the Henley Classic, a 2.1 km swim in the River Thames on 30th June 2013, in memory of a very special friend, Natalie Moss, who is hugely loved and missed by everybody who was lucky enough to have known her.

The swim follows the famous Royal Henley Regatta course and to make things a bit more challenging is upstream and takes place at 5am on a Sunday morning!  Apparently arriving in darkness and getting into the inky black water at that time in the morning is meant to add to the experience... I’m not so convinced!

As part of my training I will be doing the swimming leg of a triathlon this Friday in Dorney Lake and while my training in a pool is well underway it’s a different ball game in the open water; as I learnt the hard way this weekend in the 13 degree waters of a Lancashire lake!

Everybody is of course welcome to come and support me but I am guessing that at that time on a Sunday it doesn’t sound too tempting however you can show your support by kindly donating to The Natalie Kate Moss Trust, which is an amazing cause close to so many peoples' hearts including my own.
