The Great North "what have I done" Run

Great North Run 2022 · 11 September 2022 ·
My story isn't about me, it's about my son Dylan. Dylan has autism, somethings he finds easy like maths, and other things more challenging like socialising and reading. He loves playing games, cooking, coding and supporting others with differences. Last year we arranged get togethers within the local autism community, something that Dylan is wanting to organise again, and he's also has helped others at school that are perceived as different.
As a parent, all you want is to support your children so they can grow up to be an independent adult, accepted by society and others. I hope by raising money for the National Austim Society that I increase the awareness and acceptance of autism to create a future that Dylan can thrive within.
I'm really not looking forward to running 13 miles, however if it's a way I can create a positive awareness of autism, I say bring on the sweat and blisters!
