Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5k · 2 June 2018

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

On 2nd June 2018, 'Word to your Mudder' will be running/ sliding/dragging/ high-fiving our way through the 5K Pretty Muddy obstacle course in aid of Cancer Research - yes we're getting dirty!

One in two people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime - any funds raised go towards discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

We all just want to have fun and raise as much money as possible for those affected by this terrible disease, please dig deep and spare what you can. Even if it's only a quid, I promise you, it WILL make a difference!

Georgina will be raising money for DJO, Des O'Neile ('Desi  Bear') who, despite initially 'kicking the tumour in the balls' (his own words) lost his battle with cancer in October 2015, aged 64. Desi Bear was a typical Northern Irishman - a great character that was taken far too soon.

Polly will be raising money in memory of her beautiful and brave sister-in-law, Mel who lost her short battle with cancer in February 2015 at the age of 41. Although not blood related, Mel was absolutely like a sister to Polly and the family have been left heart broken by her passing. A loving, vibrant young woman so full of life but tragically taken before her time

Thank you in advance x
