Julia's House The Big Jump 2022 - April · 23 April 2022 ·

No parent expects to live longer than their child, but for many of the families we support, this is a reality. Julia's House, the Dorset & Wiltshire Children's Hospice charity provides frequent respite care for children and support for their families at home, in the community and at our hospice.

Story

I am taking on the challenge of jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet to fundraise for Julia's House on Saturday 23rd April. After supporting the charity by taking part in the Coastal Trek in June 2018 I am keen to support this fantastic charity again.

Julia's House provides practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.

As a relatively new mum I can only imagine what it may feel like for families that are facing unimaginable heartbreak - the knowledge that their child may not live into adulthood. Julia’s House provides frequent, flexible care for children, provides support to families in their own homes, in the community or at  hospices and give their parents a much-needed break.

Julia’s House has to raise 95 per cent of the money it needs each year to run this vital service which is why I have chosen to support them. Your kind sponsorship will make a life-changing difference to these families and here is an example of how:

£10 - could pay for a special sensory toy for a baby
£20 - could pay for a messy time fun kit for children
£30 - could pay for a magical interactive storytelling session for children
£50 - could pay for a week's supply of vital hospice equipment such as syringes, suction filters and
defibrillator pads
£100 - could pay for an hour's expert nursing care for a child at home or can provide a fun
and life liberation online gaming session for up to six older children at the hospice or in their own home.

Any donation no matter how big or small will help me to take on this challenge and jump out of a plane for a very worthy cause!
