On 30th September I'm competing in Ironman Barcelona, my first Ironman event.

That's:

2.5 mile (3.8km) ocean swim

112 mile (180km) cycle

A full marathon 26.2 miles (42 km) run.

I should add that a fast time is considered to be anything sub 11 hours!!

In 2007 My brother-in-law set up a small primary school in a remote village in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in the world with one of the lowest literacy rates. In 2013, with a group of friends, he established the charity Set4Life to support this school. From nothing the school has grown to provide education to over 50 children who otherwise would have had no opportunity to get an education. Education is a huge step towards alleviating poverty and this is a fantastic opportunity to sponsor a charity where each and every pound you donate makes a material difference to a cause that is helping to improve the lives of the children that attend the school and their families.
