24hr Swim Relay: Shepperton 2024 · 8 June 2024 to 9 June 2024 ·

The challenge is simple. Gather a team of up to 8 swimmers and swim for an hour each, for 24 hours. It really doesn’t matter what your ability is. It’s not a race, no one is being timed or tracked. You swim as much as you want, as fast as you want.

Story

I'm taking on the incredible 24hr Swim Relay at Shepperton Lake to raise money for Level Water.

Imagine you didn't have equal access to swimming lessons as a child because of something that was out of your control.

After working with children with all kinds of disabilities for many years I understand how crucial swimming can be for them. Working for Level Water I see first hand what a difference it makes to their physical strength and flexibility. I hear their parents' relief they are safe around water. I watch how their lessons bring so much joy and confidence.

I am not really a swimmer so this relay is a huge challenge for me. I've started training and am hoping I can stay afloat for my shifts! Please donate whatever you can and together we will make it through the full 24hrs. £15 pays for 1 lesson so anything you can spare will make a huge difference to our kids. They deserve equal access.

The first splash. Holding your breath. The echoes of laughter. The wet hair. Lifted spirits. The joy of gliding through water. The smile that lasts all day. Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
