Jurassic Coast Challenge · 22 May 2021 to 23 May 2021 ·
Please sponsor our 100km walk.
In August 2018, James was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, a blood cancer that primarily affects young people.
The cancer had progressed quite far, and was difficult to treat, eventually requiring a full stem cell transplant. The donor for the treatment was found in Germany by the Anthony Nolan charity. Without Anthony Nolan, James would no longer be with us.
During recovery, James was told multiple times that as a result of the various treatments, his lungs, heart, and overall fitness would almost certainly never return to the levels he had been used to.
We are doing this challenge for two reasons.
1. To raise money for the charity that helped save his life
2. To prove everybody wrong about James' post transplant fitness.
The challenge is to walk along the Jurassic coast.
James, Andy, Jon, and Duncan will be doing 100km over 2 days, and Bessie and Anne will be joining them for the second day I.e 42km.
That's 150,000 steps, or 24 total hours of walking (with a night in a tent half way through).
