Story
Wales Air Ambulance Charity is funded by the people of Wales and requires £6.5 million a year to keep it's four helicopters in the sky, serving Wales and saving lives. The charity can be anywhere in Wales within 20 minutes, its doctors and medics fly the A&E department to the patient. It also runs the Children's Wales Air Ambulance service, transferring vulnerable babies and children to the specialist hospitals across the UK.
Your donations will really help keep this vital service in Wales.
The reason why I am supporting the Wales Air Ambulance is to celebrate my 70th birthday year and 60 years of Volunteering.
I started as a St John Cadet at the age of 10, helped form the St John Lifeguard Division putting in over 20 years of Surf Patrol at Barry Island, spent 36 years with the Barry Dock lifeboat (18 on the ‘sharp’ end) and presently a Welsh Ambulance Service Community First Responder. As well as the voluntary commitment, I have just retired from the nursing profession after 50 years!
As you can see, I have a passion for what I do and it is no wonder that I challenge myself to help others such as the Wales Air Ambulance in their vital role of helping others, they do make the difference and I want to be part of it.
Please support me, I urge friends, relatives, companies and others to help me raise £1,000.
Cheers for now
