#RunForRose24 · 31 July 2021

After a short battle with A.T.R.T Cancer, we sadly lost our baby girl, Rose, on the 13th February 2020. We are making it our mission to support families and give them a chance to create lasting memories. We also walk hand in hand with families who are bereaved on their journey to a new normal

Story

Last year during lockdown myself and the rest of my fellow Ystrad Runners took part in the #runforrose event for Rose's way foundation.

After reading what had happened to little Rose and what the family went through it really touched me.

Being a dad of three children, I can't imagine how I would be able to deal with losing any of my kids, just like any other parent out there would feel.

After loosing little Rose, Catherine and  Andrew (Rose's mam and dad) decided to set up Rose's way foundation to help other families with terminally ill children to create lasting memories and to provide financial support.

It's comforting to know that for anyone who does unfortunately loose their child they will have Rose's ways foundation there to help them every step of the way.

Last year I wanted to take on an ultra marathon. Unfortunately due to Covid that never happened.

So this year I thought why not challenge myself with an ultra distance style event. I have decided to travel up and down Pen Y Fan mountain for 24hrs straight. I hope to raise awareness and money for Rose's way foundation.

This will be my biggest challenge to date, so please could you donate and share this event on your social media platforms and help me raise as much money as I can for this great charity.

Here is more about Rose's Way Foundation

Our mission at Roses way foundation is to walk hand in hand with families of terminally ill children to help them create lasting memories. We also continue with them on their journey to a new normal focusing heavily on bereaved siblings and helping the whole family to cope with life after loss. Also with the support of the National Lotter Community fund we have teamed up with the Worry Wizard to help primary school age children on a path from Worry to Wellbeing, regardless if suffered a loss or not, Children's mental health is as important.
