2wish provide immediate and ongoing bereavement support for those affected by the sudden and traumatic loss of a child or young adult aged 25 years and under in Wales. We aim to help those faced with the unimaginable to live again, smile again and to never give up hope.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Picture this, 5 days after your child’s first birthday they sadly pass away, imagine the grief, the questions and the truly mind numbing emotions. Then in this time of trauma you lose your partner, soulmate, best friend and father of your recently deceased child. Sadly this is a true story. These tragic events led to the formation of ‘2 Wish Upon A Star’, a charity that aims to provide bereavement counselling and services directly at the hospital. Their wish is to be able to deliver these services at every hospital in Wales. If you have utilised the help and advice of a bereavement counselor, then you will know that there is an extremely long waiting list. Many of these services are delivered by not for profit organisations that have limited resources. Recently on bereavement service based in Newport told us that they alone have an 8 month waiting list. Coping with a tragedy or death is something that we will all go through, some people will remain amazingly strong through this time, others will crumble. Seeking help is not a weakness!

That is where we come in. Along with  my self, Jay, Dave, Steve and Rhys attend to complete the 'Dirty Dozen Run' this July in Usk. The Dirty Dozen is a 6 or 12K (this year we are only doing 6) filled with obstacles along the way. Trust us when we say it will absolutely ruin us. We aim to raise money for the amazing charity and want your help.
