Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking on a '125 Portrait Challenge' to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of our practice, The Tooley and Foster Partnership. As part of this, I am aiming to raise funds for Histio UK who ensure that research and information support work continues for Histiocytosis, an umbrella term applied to a group of rare diseases characterised by increased number of white blood cells (histioctes), which begin to attack the body, targeting many vital organs.
The significance of this is that one of my business partners was diagnosed with HLH in the early part of 2016, albeit it was much later that this diagnosis was confirmed, as doctors struggled to find the source of his illness. Fortunately, he is on the mend and after 9 + months he has returned home to his wife and son. Prior to this I, nor anyone else, had ever of this disorder and it remains a mystery why he contracted this terrible rare disease.
I am therefore taking on this challenge to raise funds and more importantly, awareness of this disorder. I aim to draw 125 portraits in a period of 12 months during 2017. Portraits will be A4 format in pencil or ink unless I feel the urge to use colour. The portraits will be subject to a voluntary contribution of £20 or over with all funds going to Histio UK. I will attempt any portrait (although I cannot promise the outcome), so please send through your pictures or photos to gkundi@tooleyfoster.com and I will make a start - there are loads to do with an average of 2.4 portraits a week...............
