At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Firstly, a heart felt thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As of 2010 there were an estimated 35.6 million people living with dementia.  Though this is a huge figure this does not come close to the number of people affected by it.  Carers, friends and family are all left feeling helpless as their loved one slips away.

My Grandma was diagnosed with dementia when I was still only young, and increasingly this disease, for which there is yet no known cure, is affecting the lives of others around me.

The Alzheimer's Society do fantastic work not only looking for medical breakthroughs in the field, but also in supporting those who are affected by the disease, and raising awareness of it.

Please help me smash my target by digging deep in the beer kitty...and feel free to come along and laugh at me red faced and sweating buckets in my costume!
