Brain Tumour Research is the leading voice of the brain tumour community and focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. We are campaigning to increase the national investment in research to at least £45 million a year and funding sustainable Centres of Excellence across the UK.

Story

As a team we are all going to get moving for march to raise funds for brain tumour awareness. Thanks for taking the time to visit our page. We are all committed to increasing our exercise between 50-100KM minimum in March this will be by walking, running or cycling . This is to raise money for a great charity and to support our fabulous friend Charlotte Giddings who is currently going through chemotherapy. All group members will log activity and upload and Mrs Harrison will keep a spreadsheet. I am going to add some of charlottes story below ” personal battle started in 2014, I am now 4 operations down the line, this is a life changer and has tested mine and my family's strength to the max.. I am trying to simply raise awareness and help to fund research, there are already advancements from my first operation in 2015 to my last in 2017. I had 6 monthly scans, which showed white shadows, they were unsure if it was tumour or scar tissue, I then started with bad seizures which unfortunately caused me huge anxiety, to the point I left my job and wouldn’t leave the house. I then had a scan in December 2019, the white shadow had grown, so the decision was made to go down the route of radiotherapy and Chemotherapy, the radiotherapy finished in December 2020, causing me to loose my hair and strangely one eyebrow ( that a pretty look) I then started my first round of 6 of chemotherapy in February 2021, my last is in September all depending that my bloods can hold up the fight. Their is no cure, my hope now is that this fight can stop the growth. Please help the fight to find a cure xx”
