Story
I'm taking on the 'Walk' 100 Miles in October challenge for the one million people who are living with dementia in the UK today. My aim is to run as many of those miles as possible - there may be a few walk breaks along the way to enjoy the scenery!
The charity is deeply personal to me. Watching a loved one live with this disease is profoundly challenging and heart breaking, as it gradually takes away memories, independence and connections. By contributing to research, we can help drive progress towards better and earlier diagnosis, treatments and ultimately, a cure.
The first treatments that can slow Alzheimer's disease are now on the horizon. They are at a tipping point in dementia research which could make a huge difference to so many people as well as their friends and families. Whether you donate £5 or go for a more traditional 10p a mile to make it a tenner, every little bit helps. Your support is truly appreciated 🧡
