The Twilight Walk Edinburgh MUMS ARMY

The Twilight Walk Edinburgh 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·
We are walking together in memory of our wonderful mum who is the strongest woman we know 💓✨
Mum was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in April 2017 whilst visiting us in Australia. We were all absolutely devastated. A glioblastoma, also known as a GBM, is the fastest growing form of the glioma brain tumour and is extremely difficult to treat, with just 3.3% of patients surviving beyond two years.
David, Ben and I immediately made plans to relocate to Scotland so I could spend precious time with her and support through each part of her journey. She was so courageous in her last 2years with us. Her strength and love for us was present every day until she passed away 7th July 2018 at Accord Hospice.
Unfortunately, Progress in research into brain tumours has been slow - since 1971 there has been an overall increase in survival of less than 10% for people with a high grade brain tumour, one of the poorest improvements across all cancers. This highlights the need for investment in this field of research
Please dip into your pockets and make our mum proud!
