Update 3 October 2021

Well I did it!! Just under the elusive 4 hour mark!! What an experience!! Thank you to everyone who has donated- that gave me the strength I needed to do those last few miles. G xx

Update - 2021

Well for reasons I don't need to go into the 2020 London Marathon did not go ahead - in April or October!  So here I am 18 months' on and still waiting to run those iconic 26.2 miles!  But with a fair wind, I shall be on the start line on Sunday 3rd October.  I have trained in every weather over the last 18 months so the question now to be answered is "Can I still run at fifty one"?  Well I am certainly going to try and do my best for Barnardos - whose support has been unwavering.  So if you can spare a pound or two to support them in return it would make a huge difference.

2020

For those that have known me long enough, you may recall when I hit 40, I walked the Inca Trail (26.2 miles of it) for charity.  Ten years have passed and it's time for the next challenge, so what better than picking up the pace and running 26.2 miles through the streets of London in aid of Barnardo's.

Barnardo's do a fantastic job of protecting, supporting and nurturing the most vulnerable children and I have been lucky enough to see the good work they do through my role at work.

As the miles add up, and the training seems an endless round of runs in the rain and wind, it would be fantastic if you could help make those miles worthwhile and sponsor me.  As we all know, every penny counts in the charity sector and your donation will be much appreciated.

So for now the question remains unanswered - will I be nifty at fifty?  Tune in on the 26th April 2020 to find out.

Thank you.
