Story

Gills Hero’s…..

Sam, Rachel, Lynnette, Stephen, Gary, Suzanne Woollen, our families and our four legged friends will be taking part in the Night Strider 10K event that is taking place in Sheffield on the 6 October 2018.

As many of you know our lovely mum passed away in St Luke’s on15th June 2018 from bowel cancer, which had been diagnosed early March 2017.

St Luke’s is a charitable organisation and receives a small percentage of its funding via the NHS. The charity relies heavily on funding generated through fund raising events and donations.

St Luke’s provided a lifeline to us whilst mum was in their care and enabled our family to support mum until she passed away.  We are a large family and St Luke’s understood what was important to our mum which was us; her family.

Not only did they accommodate mums needs and wishes, they also supported our needs and wishes to be with mum in her final weeks, which made mum feel, safe, secure and loved.  They pulled out all the stops to find sleeping equipment for 13 of us – not an easy task!

There are many families in the same situation like ours was and there are some people who unfortunately do not to have anyone to give them support.  We want to help St Lukes carry on delivering this support to those who need it.

So if you wish to support us and St Lukes a small donation would be lovely, to help carry on this work.

Thank you

Gill Ellis’s family and friends x
