Story

Friday 5th February is officially our "Something to Make us Smile Day" in Gilnahirk Primary. As a school, we want to do something to make a local charity smile. We have supported Bandanas For The Brave before and it is so powerful to think that our small fund raising efforts will bring a smile to the face of local children going through Cancer Treatment.

Charity Information:  Bandanas For The Brave is very unique charity, they provide a FREE bandana to children & young adults from 0-25 who have been given a Cancer diagnosis, there are NO other charities that provide this service, anywhere in UK & Ireland, which makes their work not only important but a necessity– hair loss is a devastating and painful side effect of chemo/radiotherapy, they help physically by giving these brave children and young adults a bandana and psychologically by giving back their confidence and smile at this difficult stage #supportthebrave

About the charity

..Our Aim is to give every child & young person (0-25) that has been given a cancer diagnoses in Uk & Ireland a FREE Bandana. Bandanas for the Brave is a Charity that has been set up after my own son lost his hair, when going through a long course of chemotherapy, for his Brain tumour in 2010.
