Story

I'm participating in the Hampshire Rainbow run on 30th September 2018 in aid of Naomi House Hospice.

I am running in the memory of a very special little boy, who was looked after so well by Naomi House.

For those who do not know their story, or why I am running for Naomi House in Sebastian's name, here is a little insight:  Last year, two of my best friends heard the news no new parent should have to hear. Their gorgeous baby boy was diagnosed with a heart defect at only 2 days old, and surgery was not a positive option for him. I witnesses as their world crashed around them, and can honestly say it is the most heartbreaking thing I have ever seen. They made the decision to transfer Sebastian to Naomi House Hospice. Whilst still obviously devastated and struggling to come to terms with their situation, the positive impact being at Naomi House had was so visible to see.  They were able to make the most of the days they had with Sebastian, creating beautiful memories that they would be able to treasure forever.  Sebastian's time was short, but his life was one surrounded by love.  Naomi House provided an environment in which his parents could focus on making the most of the time they had with him, and making every moment special.  You cannot put a number or value on how significant that is!

It is difficult to comprehend how difficult it must be for any parent to hear that their baby or child has a life limiting illness; trying to navigate a path forwards whilst your world is caving in around you.  That is why the support and care offered by Naomi House Hospice is so very important.

If you are able to give a little to help support this cause, please do donate.  We never know when we might find ourselves in need of somewhere like Naomi House and its so important they have the funds needed to continue their wonderful work.
