Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page dedicated to my dad. Two and a half years ago, my dad had a mole removed on his chest and the doctors found this to be stage 2 of a very aggressive form of melanoma. He then had surgery to remove the cancer from his chest and a few months later, we had been given the news that he had the all clear and was classed as a 'low risk' of the cancer returning. On the 21st February 2017 my dad had colasped at home and was taken to A&E. followed up by a scan, the doctors then informed us that he has three legions on the brain. Further to investigating where these legions came from, my dad then had a scan of his chest where the cancer was previously. It appeared that there was a 6,4cm mass on his lung which seemed to be the primary location of where the cancer cells were travelling from. Once a biopsy was complete, it confirmed that the melanoma from two years ago had not gone and a few cells had travelled into his blood causing the disease to grow during the two and half years. On the day of treatment, we entered the royal marsden hospital waiting for our miracle however, my dad suddenly turned ill and appeared to be showing symptoms of a stroke. The doctors rushed to his aid and took a scan of the brain, they informed us that one of legions on the brain has begun to bleed giving us an estimated life expectancy of a few days. Although my dad was aware of this, he never gave up, he survived for 17 days after he was admitted into hospital. My dad was a fighter, a brilliant father and husband, he was an inspiration and beat the odds. He only cared about his family, not himself and he was the most strongest and selfless man ever to exist.
