Macmillan has played such an important part in many people’s lives, including ours.
Nobody knows when we might need to call on their fantastic work. Let’s hope it’s not anytime soon.
Here is my story!

Go running they said, it’ll be great,
It will help you to lose all that weight,
So I bought all the kit, and took lots of skit,
And headed off out with my mates.

We signed up for the Lakeland Trails,
And wandered along like snails,
Not much running was done, more like selfies in the sun,
Without training we were bound to fail.

So a kick up the arse was due,
And with #helensgirls it came true,
Runs around the park, mostly in the dark,
I never thought I could do it, did you?

So came the year of the 5 - 0,
And I was still incredibly slow,
Great North Run came along, but it still seemed so wrong,
I knew I had such a long way to go.

So with Andy, my best mate,
We ran and ran until late,
We clocked up the miles, I’m still slow all the time,
But determined, I knew we’d be great.

Doing Parkrun when we’d sooner sleep,
Running up slopes that are still far too steep,
We will do our best and keep up with rest,
So please support us and DIG DEEP!!!
